Thomas F. Concannon, age 88, a lifelong resident of Norwood, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, April 13, 2026, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of his devoted family at his home. He was the caring and loving husband of Mary Ann (Keady) Concannon for 59 years.

Born in Norwood, Tommy was the only child of the late Thomas and Mary (Flaherty) Concannon, Irish immigrants from County Galway. He was raised in Norwood and attended St. Catherine’s School before enrolling at Boston College High School, from which he graduated in 1956. Tommy then headed to Worcester, where he attended the College of the Holy Cross, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1960.

The accounting world did not hold his attention for long, and Tommy opened his first pub, Tom’s Cabin, in Walpole and a few years later brought his hospitality back to Norwood with the Irish Heaven. The workman’s bar was filled with good men who were always ready to share a joke with Tommy.

In the early 1970’s, he saw the opportunity for a local function hall to support the many needs of Norwood and opened Concannon’s Village. The Village hosted countless weddings, local benefits such as Friends of St. Nick and Norwood High Boosters, as well as weekly Irish dances. Tommy was a huge supporter for the local Irish community and an early board member of the Irish Cultural Centre.

What made Tommy happiest was all of the relationships he developed over the years. Whether it was traveling to Ireland to visit with relatives, or the many cruises with their Irish music-loving friends. Tommy loved spending his free time with his Cape family at “Mamo’s Beach House” in Popponesset.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann, Tommy is survived by his four proud sons: Thomas J. Concannon and his wife Jennifer, of West Chester, Ohio; Eamon Concannon, of Norwood; Brian Concannon and his wife Megan, of Franklin; and Brendan Concannon and his wife Jean, of Braintree. He also leaves behind his nine treasured grandchildren, Kaitlin, Brendan, Matthew, Jack, Colleen, Liam, Caroline, Owen, and Kelsey, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation and funeral services provided by the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington Street, Norwood. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at the St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.

Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to Friends of St. Nick, P.O. Box 814, Norwood, MA 02062 or via the following link: https://friendsofstnick.org/purchase-tickets/
