5th Annual Norwood Pride Celebration

We invite everyone to join the town’s fifth annual Pride Celebration on the Norwood Town Common on Saturday, May 31 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. We encourage you to support our local downtown businesses for dinner or bring your own food and whatever else you’ll need for comfort and weather. Enjoy our beautiful Central Street Greenspace. Everyone is invited to dress comfortably and colorfully for this fun, casual celebration with neighbors and family. This is a drop-in event and no registration is required. Our rain date is June 8, 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Spearheaded by Progress Norwood, the annual Norwood Pride Celebration is sponsored by a rainbow of other town departments and local organizations, including the Morrill Memorial Library. Progress Norwood will provide craft activities, and our Norwood Pride lawn signs will be available for sale. This year we will be fundraising for Out Metrowest, supporting LGBTQ+ youth in the Metro Boston area.

Blood donors needed

Having blood and platelets available when a patient arrives at a trauma center is vital. Major traumas can quickly deplete a hospital’s blood product supply. People of all blood types are urged to schedule an appointment to give blood or platelets as we look toward Memorial Day and summer.

Taps Across America at Old Parish Cemetery

This Memorial Day, May 25, at 3:00 p.m., Taps will sound at Old Parish Cemetery to honor the more than 50 veterans interred there, including 29 men who served in the American Revolution. This year, the tribute will feature two trumpeters from Norwood public schools: Arielle Jones and Gabriel Martinez Ovando.
