Norwood Actress to Play Jo March in Little Women the musical
Strutting stuff in Randolph this weekend

That dream will be realized this weekend when she takes to the stage in the coveted role of Jo March, a determined woman ahead of her times set on establishing a career for herself as a writer at a time when like most professions, entry barriers for women were high and rejections were abundant. Jo weaves the story of the four March sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America along with her personal struggles as a woman seriously pursuing a non-traditional career at that time.
Based on Louis May Alcott’s life, the musical follows the adventures of the four March sisters and the special connections they hold with each other. The musical is about determination, disappointment, family bonds, paths chosen lifelong bonds forged. You will laugh, cry and relate in many ways. The musical score, by composer Jason Howland with lyrics by Mindi Dickstein is absolutely beautiful and energizing especially when coupled with the dance numbers.
Bryan Sabbag, Lauren’s twin, also of Norwood, plays John Brooke, a quiet, hardworking and duty-bound tutor. Reserved and modest, John Brooke is man of honor who chooses to go to war for the greater good. Romantic twists ensue for this man of exemplary character and you will find yourself at the edge of your seat, anticipating the next development.
